My Tips

Keep a private record of your tips, actual hours and optional hourly wages across jobs.

Reviewed:

Open your private journal

  1. Select My Tips on Home, or open More or Tools & settings → My Tips. It is also available from your profile and the welcome screen when you have no establishment.
  2. Choose a month to review your entries, or select Log my tips to record a shift. You can keep more than one entry on the same day for different shifts or jobs.

Only you can see your entries and photos. They stay with your account if you leave an establishment. Amounts are recorded in USD. This journal does not connect to a point-of-sale system or payroll.

Save your jobs and optional hourly rates

  1. Open My Tips settings. Turn on Track my hourly wages and positions if you want to record pay rates as well as tips. This is optional.
  2. Under Saved jobs and positions, select Add job. Choose an establishment you belong to, or Custom workplace and enter its name.
  3. Select Add position. Enter a Position name and, if wanted, a Default hourly rate. For example, save “Patio server” with your usual hourly rate. Add other positions or jobs as needed.
  4. Optionally enter a Monthly tip goal, then select Save settings. These private settings are saved across your devices.

Changing a saved rate does not rewrite old entries. Turning wage tracking off keeps previously saved rates and positions. You can use a custom workplace if your establishment list cannot load.

Log tips after a shift

  1. Select Log my tips and check Shift date. Enter Cash tips and Credit card tips if you want a breakdown; entering either calculates Total tips kept. You can also enter the total directly.
  2. Enter your final share after tip-outs. Include each amount once. For example, if you kept $40 cash and $60 card after sharing tips, record $100 in total.
  3. Enter the Hours worked and Minutes worked that you actually worked, including a shift with zero tips. For four and a half hours, enter 4 hours and 30 minutes.
  4. Use Saved job and Saved position to copy saved details, or enter the job manually. With wage tracking on, check the optional Hourly wage and Position for this entry.
  5. Open Advanced options for optional Sales, Tip-outs already deducted and Notes. Tip-outs here are a record of money already taken out; they are not subtracted a second time.
  6. Review the amounts and time, then select Save entry. The saved entry appears on its day and updates the journal totals.

You can also open one of your published shifts in Shifts and select Log my tips. It fills the date, establishment and position; enter actual hours yourself. If that shift already has an entry, it opens the existing one. Later schedule changes do not rewrite your journal.

Attach and review photos

  1. While logging or editing, use Take photo on a supported phone or Choose photos. You can attach up to eight JPG, PNG or WebP images, each up to 20 MB.
  2. Keep the default names, such as Image 1, or rename the photos. Select Preview to check that the numbers are readable, then Save entry.
  3. To open a saved photo, choose its Photo or Preview control. Use Download photo if you need a copy.

Photos are compressed and do not fill in tip amounts automatically. HEIC is not supported; choose a JPG, PNG or WebP copy.

Understand totals and correct entries

  1. Choose the month and day, then use Job and Position filters if needed. Month totals and comparisons follow those filters. Select Clear filters to see all jobs.
  2. Read Tips per hour as total tips divided by total actual hours. Selected week starts on Monday and may include days from another month. Your monthly tip goal counts all jobs, even when filters hide some entries.
  3. With wage tracking enabled, review estimated wages and how many shifts have a rate. A missing rate means unknown wages, not zero. The current-month outlook is only an estimate based on what you logged.
  4. Choose an entry on its day and select Edit to correct it, then Save entry. To remove it, select Delete, read the confirmation and select Delete entry. Deletion also removes its attached photos and cannot be undone.

Wage estimates are not payroll, taxes or take-home pay. A forecast cannot know future shifts, missing entries or pay changes.

Download, print or save a PDF

  1. Choose the month and check the job and position filters. The report includes your matching entries, including recorded rates and photo names; it does not include the photo files.
  2. Select Export / Print. Read Scope to check what is included, then review the record count and preview.
  3. Select Export CSV to download a file you can open in a spreadsheet app.
  4. Or select Print / Save as PDF. Choose a printer or Save as PDF in your browser’s print window, if your device offers it, and finish printing or saving.

The preview shows up to 50 records. Follow the stated scope for the full download or printout. Attachments are listed by name; download the files separately. Saved copies do not update when records change in Oomūli.

If an entry or total looks wrong

  1. Check the signed-in account, month, selected day and filters. Clear filters and check adjacent dates before assuming an entry is missing.
  2. If saving fails, keep the draft and read the error. An uncertain response may already have saved; retry the same unchanged entry instead of creating another. For a conflicting edit, review the latest entry before saving again.
  3. If a photo will not open, check your connection and select Try again. For an unavailable journal, contact Help & feedback with the error wording. A manager cannot enable or inspect your private journal.
